This Privacy Policy explains how Ahsan Jannat ("I," "me," or "this site") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit ahsan-jannat.netlify.app or use its tools, including the free SEO audit tool and contact form. I'm not a large company with a legal team, so this is written in plain language rather than dense legal text — if anything here is unclear, contact me directly using the details at the bottom of this page.

1. Information You Provide Directly

Some parts of this site ask you to provide information directly:

  • Contact form: first name, last name, email address, phone number, company name, and your message. This is submitted through Formspree, a third-party form-processing service, and forwarded to my email inbox so I can respond to you.
  • Newsletter signup: if you enter your email address in the blog newsletter widget, it is used only to send you new SEO, AEO, and GEO articles, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Free SEO Audit tool: the website URL you enter is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights API to generate your audit results. I don't store the URLs you submit, and the tool doesn't ask for your name or email.

2. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, some information is collected automatically as part of normal operation:

  • Hosting logs: this site is hosted on Netlify, which may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and performance purposes.
  • Page view counts: blog posts display a view count powered by CounterAPI, a third-party counting service. This counts page loads per browser session (tracked with a temporary session identifier) and does not collect your name, email, or other identifying information.
  • Theme preference: your light/dark mode and visual theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage so it's remembered on your next visit. This stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

This site does not currently use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

This site uses browser local storage and session storage for the functional purposes described above (theme preference, view-count deduplication). Separately, the advertisements that appear on blog posts and the free audit tool are served by Adsterra, a third-party advertising network, which may set its own cookies to serve and measure ads. I don't control what Adsterra's ads do on your device — you can review their practices directly, and most browsers let you block or clear third-party cookies in your settings.

4. How Your Information Is Used

Information collected through this site is used only to:

  • Respond to messages sent through the contact form
  • Send newsletter emails to those who sign up for them
  • Generate the results you request from the free audit tool
  • Keep the site running securely and understand roughly how content is performing (via anonymous view counts)

Your information is never sold. It isn't shared with anyone beyond the third-party service providers named in this policy, which process it only to provide the function you requested (for example, Formspree processing your contact form submission).

5. Third-Party Services Used on This Site

  • Formspree — processes contact form submissions
  • Google PageSpeed Insights API — powers the free audit tool
  • Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on this site; your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch these, which involves your IP address
  • CounterAPI — powers the anonymous blog view counters
  • Adsterra — serves the advertisements shown on blog posts and the free audit tool
  • Netlify — hosts this website

Each of these services has its own privacy practices governing the data that passes through them, which I encourage you to review if you have specific concerns.

6. Data Retention

Contact form messages and newsletter email addresses are kept for as long as needed to respond to you or maintain the newsletter, and are deleted on request. Free audit tool URLs are not stored after your results are generated. Anonymous view-count data has no personal identifier attached to delete.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, or to object to certain processing. If you'd like to exercise any of these rights — for example, removing your email from the newsletter list or deleting a past contact form message — email me at the address below and I'll act on it promptly.

8. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for business owners, marketers, and professionals, and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).

9. Data Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information submitted through this site, including relying on established, reputable third-party providers (Formspree, Netlify) rather than self-managed databases. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so this can't be guaranteed absolutely.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the site's tools and services change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
